About This Poster
I've always seen breweries as the adult version of Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. Grabbing inspiration from the story and adapting the setting to a Maine lobster boat (home <3), the crustacean launching upward mimics Augusta Gloop stuck in the chocolate tube, the moose is based off Grandpa Joe swimming from fizzy lifting drinks and the fisherman has a similar pose to Wonka illustrations in the Roald Dahl book. Candy is dandy but liquor is quicker!
This poster design is part of A New England Brew, a collaborative event hosted by BSDS in conjunction with Backlash Beer Co. in Boston, MA. Twenty eight contributing designers were asked to interpret the theme “A New England Brew” through the medium of an 18x24-inch poster. All profits will benefit Artists for Humanity, an organization which helps under-resourced youth into paid employment in the arts.
