About This Poster
For this piece, I wanted to conjure something up that depicted an element of a newer New England, and with that, came to mind the iconic Citgo sign in Boston. Whether taking a stroll through Kenmore Square, or enjoying a cold one at Fenway, the famous signage connotes a lot of meaning to many, and I hope that the play on the sign’s iconic design in this piece brings the viewer to that same meaning, yet with some humor as well! Enjoy!
This poster design is part of A New England Brew, a collaborative event hosted by BSDS in conjunction with Backlash Beer Co. in Boston, MA. Twenty eight contributing designers were asked to interpret the theme “A New England Brew” through the medium of an 18x24-inch poster. All profits will benefit Artists for Humanity, an organization which helps under-resourced youth into paid employment in the arts.
Nick is an Art Director at Vistaprint by day, and an avid live music junkie at night. He believes most aspects of design should follow the KISS mantra coined by the Navy, which graciously means: Keep It Simple Stupid!
